Why every Mimir pick comes with a reason
Mimir reads stories by mood, theme, pacing and world, not just genre, and tells you which of those matched what you asked for.
Most recommendations say "because you watched X". Mimir tries to say why a story fits what you asked for.
Reading stories, not just genres
Every work in the catalogue is read along a few dimensions: genre, themes (grief, memory, power, coming of age), moods (eerie, comforting, tense), pacing, complexity, narrative shape and world. Each reading has a strength, so "a little melancholic" and "devastating" are different things.
Matching across media
Because the readings are shared across films, books, games and music, Mimir can find "something like Blade Runner, but a book" or a game that feels like a favourite album. Open any work and choose in other media to try it.
Honest about where facts come from
Release years, runtimes, scores and covers come from open data such as Wikidata, Open Library and MusicBrainz, with the source shown. The readings and parents' guides are AI-assisted and marked as awaiting editorial review. Spot something wrong? Send beta feedback.
